Rosemarie Klotz repeatedly experienced in her daily practice how much the health, resilience, and appearance of the skin shape people's well-being. However, when searching for suitable skincare recommendations for her patients, she constantly reached her limits. A glance at the ingredient lists of conventional cosmetics often raised more questions than it answered. Too many unnecessary fillers, irritating preservatives, and insufficient active ingredient concentrations simply did not meet her high medical standards. Out of this clear need to find well-founded, tolerable, and physiologically sensible answers for skincare, she founded KLOTZ LABS®. From the very beginning, her goal was to develop skincare products that uncompromisingly meet the natural needs of the skin and sustainably support its function.

Pioneering work 16 years ago

Over 16 years ago, Dr. med. Rosemarie Klotz began the systematic development of her own formulations. In doing so, she carried out significant pioneering work that laid the foundation for today's modernly formulated active ingredient cosmetics. KLOTZ LABS® was one of the first brands to consistently recognise that classic preservatives can disrupt the sensitive skin barrier and unbalance the microbiome. The physician found the solution in the use of special glycols. Although these raw materials are significantly more expensive to produce, she identified glycols as the most sensible and skin-friendly method of product stabilisation. They not only preserve the purity of the formulas but also possess valuable moisture-binding properties.

Furthermore, she specifically transferred findings from pharmacy into cosmetic application. To ensure that valuable ingredients do not merely remain on the skin's surface but reach where they are needed, she integrated innovative carrier systems into consumer cosmetics. Another crucial milestone was the early, differentiated consideration of hyaluronic acid. Dr. Klotz recognised many years ago that not all hyaluronic acid is the same. She researched that specific hyaluronic acid fractions – depending on their respective molecular weight – unfold completely different, targeted effects in the various skin layers, from superficial hydration to deep-acting moisture binding.

Production in Germany: the highest quality standard

To permanently guarantee the uncompromising quality and purity of the developed formulas, the entire production of KLOTZ LABS® takes place in Germany. Dr. med. Rosemarie Klotz leads her own highly qualified team, which precisely monitors every single step from the initial concept to the final filling. The in-house manufactory operates according to the strict IFS HPC standard (International Featured Standard Household and Personal Care). This certification sets the highest, internationally recognised requirements for product safety, quality management, and hygiene. It guarantees that every product leaving the production facility meets the strict specifications that one can expect from medically founded skincare. Through this local, independent manufacturing, the team retains complete control over the supply chains, raw material quality, and the efficacy of the end products at all times.

Philosophy: Active ingredients before advertising

At the heart of KLOTZ LABS® is an unmistakable philosophy: The formulation and the actual benefit for the skin have absolute priority. Instead of elaborate marketing promises, the brand relies on complete INCI transparency and strict dermatological standards. Every single ingredient is carefully selected based on its proven benefit for skin physiology – what does not serve the skin is consistently omitted.
